Fundación Manos Juntas

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH is a public health practitioner who started volunteering at Manos Juntas in 2014 and joined the Board of Directors in 2016. It was his experiences at Fundación Manos Juntas that inspired him to pursue a career in public health. Jackson received his Master’s in Public Health from the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at the Yale School of Public Health.

His work focuses on community health engagement research, program evaluation, and health communications work for numerous grant-funded CDC programs. His primary research interests include: (1) investigating the social determinants of mental and physical health among sexual, ethnic and racial minority populations; and (2) developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions to address health needs of under-resourced communities.

In addition to his role at Manos Juntas, Jackson is a researcher and lecturer at the Yale School of Public Health, where he conducts community health research at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and the Community Alliance for Research and Engagement (CARE).

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH, is a public health practitioner working at the intersection of behavior change, health communications, health program design and evaluation. He is a Program Administrator at the Community Alliance for Research & Engagement (CARE) and the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center at the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), where he leads COVID-19 communications, serves as the lead evaluator on an urban agriculture project, and advises on the design, recruitment, and evaluation of several community-engaged research projects.
