Aneesh Pakala, M.D., is a cardiologist who brings a wealth of medical experience to Manos Juntas clinic. Originally from Mumbai, India, he went directly from high school to medical school at Grant Medical College in Mumbai. After serving as an associate program director for both the internal medicine residency and cardiology programs at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, he joined Manos Juntas as its Medical Director.

His passion for serving under-resourced communities was inspired by the late Dr. Boyd Shook, who encouraged him to start volunteering at Manos Juntas. As a result of his dedication to providing quality patient care, he was elected to serve on the clinic's board of directors during a period of restructuring. In his role as Medical Director, Dr. Pakala continues to uphold the legacy of Dr. Shook by providing care to those who lack access to quality healthcare.

In his free time, Dr. Pakala runs a website and podcast called "Resiliency Rounds." He is married with two children and is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those he serves.

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH, is a public health practitioner working at the intersection of behavior change, health communications, health program design and evaluation. He is a Program Administrator at the Community Alliance for Research & Engagement (CARE) and the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center at the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), where he leads COVID-19 communications, serves as the lead evaluator on an urban agriculture project, and advises on the design, recruitment, and evaluation of several community-engaged research projects.
